Technical Support Bulletin TSB 2009-066

Description: VMware recently issued a Knowledge Base (KB) document #1015290, explaining the possibility of data corruption in configurations where N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) is deployed with VMware ESX 3.5/4.0. This defect exists in a VMware ESX environment when NPIV is configured, regardless of the HBA vendor/model. To minimize the possibility of data corruption, VMware recommends that users who configure NPIV follow the guidelines specified in the KB document.
